Rooks Paper Scissors

My craft blog is up and running. I make no promises about how often I’ll actually update it, but I’m happy with it so far.

I’m trying to find that magical balance between living life, taking photos of said life, writing about it, and blogging about it. Currently, I can usually only do the latter three while Natalie is sleeping or, as is the case right now, rubbing dinner into her hair.

How do you, Fellow Bloggers, find the balance between living and documenting life, especially if small children are in the mix?

PS Congrats to Ryan Miller for earning the prize for coming up with “Rooks Paper Scissors.” I’m in the process of coming up with just the right creation for you…

I don’t. I’ve actually been pondering that balance myself, lately, particularly after running across Jeremy Isch’s blog, on which he posts regular book reviews. That’s something I’d like to do since I read so much, but I’d also like to write my own stories, and the more time spent writing about someone else’s work means less time spent writing my own.
Your craft blog looks amazing. I particularly like the name …

Yeah, until the proverbial ‘they’ come up with a way to let me live and document life by automatically downloading all my inspired ideas directly from my brain onto a page, I guess I’ll have to live with the tension of a not-quite-balanced life. Perhaps that’s where the creative drive comes from, after all…

I just squeeze in five minutes here and ten minutes there most of the time. Any longer and I handle it in the evenings when the kids go to bed.

Blogging is cheaper than therapy.

Balance- ha! For me, it’s trying keep blog entries simple so that blogging doesn’t become a mountain I must climb. Blogging feeds my creativity, so I don’t put demands on myself, just a few challenges.
Love your new blog.
