Here are a few possible names I’ve come up with for my craft blog and/or Etsy store (in no particular order):
- paper nerd
- paper ninja
- paper gourmet
- four and a quarter (which is part of standard greeting card dimensions)
- paper flower
- paper pretties
- paper notions
- glue.paper.scissors
- paper delight
- creativeleigh (leigh is my middle name)
and thanks to Jen Smith:
Your feedback is most welcome…
I’m coming up against my May 31 deadline for the big wedding project you’ve probably heard me mention something about. I’m pretty excited about the end results thus far, and I’ve been learning about managing a project of this scale. Basically I’ve learned that there’s no way I could make money doing something like this (unless someone wanted to pay me at least $1,000). But you can’t put a price on love, and I love my friend Shannon very much—that’s why I’m doing this project.
Here are some photos of the project, my workspace, and the progress.
Working on this project has also made me think seriously about selling some of my paper creations on Etsy. It may not work out, especially since I want to make sure I have enough creative energy to give cards and other creations as gifts, which is my favorite thing to do…
The point is that I need your help. I need a name for myself/my store on Etsy/my craft blog (which I will launch if/when I start selling things). I challenge you to come up with a clever but not obscure name. The deadline is June 1, and you’ll get a prize if I pick the name you choose for me.
Minor Lost season one spoiler alert…
1. I thought I recognized John Locke — he was Howard Hughes in The Rocketeer! I loved that movie, and I always thought that actor was charismatic … something about his eyes and his voice…
2. I am such a mom … I got tears in my eyes when I realized that Locke was making a cradle for Claire…
Natalie’s surgery went as well as we could have hoped today. The short version (she’s currently trying to crawl onto the table!) is that we showed up at the surgery center at 6:30 this morning and were home by 8:30. She was out of our sight for only about 20 minutes, and the doctors said that she did very well. The eye doctor said he found the blockage in her tear duct and was able to open it. We just hope and pray that it will remain open — we have a followup appointment in two weeks…
Natalie was pretty much back to her normal self as soon as I nursed her in the recovery room.
Everyone at the surgery center was very nice and helpful and reassuring today, and starting yesterday, I felt supernaturally peaceful about the whole thing — so thank you very much for your prayers and support!
You’ve got to see it to believe it!
And, keep Natalie (and us) in your prayers. She’s having surgery on Wednesday, April 16, to open a blocked tear duct. It’s a simple and short procedure, but she’ll need general anesthesia. Naturally, I’m a bit apprehensive. I’ll keep you updated.
